Liz Male is chairman of TrustMark, the UK Government-backed quality mark scheme for tradesmen in the domestic RMI (repair, maintenance and improvement) sector. As a registered social enterprise, TrustMark brings together a diverse group of trade associations, commercial organisations, local authorities and consumer affairs bodies to set standards and give homeowners the basic protection they need when carrying out essential repairs or improvements to their properties. TrustMark's website signposts people to local reputable firms and more than 24,000 trades. The details of TrustMark-registered firms are displayed about 600,000 times per month as a result of public searches on its website and through other websites such as Citizen's Advice which signpost to TrustMark. TrustMark is currently updating its core criteria (the Government-endorsed standards), and is working closely with a wide range of trade and consumer groups to ensure successful and proportionate consumer protection for Green Deal and other domestic RMI customers.
