Andrew is an architect with considerable experience of the delivery of sustainable housing projects. He leads PRP’s Environmental team which offers sustainability consultancy services including developing low and zero carbon strategies for existing dwellings. Andrew has led many of PRP’s retrofit projects and has been directly involved in the resident engagement and post completion evaluation process of each.
He is a steering committee member of the Existing Homes Alliance and has been involved in advising Government on retrofit through the EHA, Energy Technologies Institute project and the Government’s Innovation and Growth Team. He has presented at a number of UK and international conferences and written industry articles on sustainable development and refurbishment programmes. Besides the environmental issues, his role involves consideration of the social and economic aspects of refurbishment projects as well as the practical implementation of the solutions.
He was co-author of the 2009 Housing Forum research report on delivering refurbishment projects and has led PRP’s entries in the Refurbishment for the Future competition. He is also involved with several larger exemplar refurbishment projects and is currently leading the production of a document which will advise the Abu Dhabi government on residential refurbishment.
